WHEN TO SCHEDULE YOUR MATERNITY SESSION

The perfect timeline for maternity portraits and how to make the most of this beautiful season of life.

Maternity photography captures one of the most transformative and beautiful seasons of a woman's life. Timing your session correctly ensures we capture the full beauty of your bump while you still feel comfortable and radiant.

The Sweet Spot: 28 to 34 Weeks

I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this window, your bump is beautifully round and prominent, but you're likely still comfortable enough to move, pose, and enjoy the experience.

Booking Early

I suggest reaching out during your second trimester to secure your preferred date. This gives us plenty of time for a consultation, wardrobe planning, and any adjustments needed.

The Full Experience

Your maternity session includes professional hair and makeup, access to my curated collection of maternity gowns, and my artistic direction throughout. All you need to do is show up and feel beautiful.

Indoor vs. Outdoor

Both settings create stunning maternity portraits. Outdoor sessions in wildflower fields or under ancient trees have an ethereal, romantic quality. Indoor studio sessions offer more control over lighting and a timeless, editorial feel.

Including Your Partner and Children

Some of the most meaningful maternity images include your partner and older children. The anticipation of a new family member, captured through tender touches and genuine excitement, creates portraits that tell the complete story of this moment.

Connecting to Your Newborn Session

Many of my maternity clients also book a newborn session, creating a beautiful narrative arc from bump to baby. These paired sessions become treasured keepsakes that document the incredible journey of becoming a family.
